The planned hours (HRS 1) is mandatory for Apprenticeships (Funding model 36) and planned hours (HRS 2) is mandatory for T Level programmes. (Funding model 25, programme type 31).

Actual hours for off the job training of an apprenticeship programme (HRS 3) for the individual apprentice at the end of the the practical period of the apprenticeship programme (excluding the end point assessment period) by the training provider, sub-contracted training providers and the employer. The information in the ILR may be subject to compliance checks during the academic year and must therefore be supported by the evidence requirements set out in the funding rules for off the job training.

It is important that Actual hours for off the job training of an apprenticeship programme (HRS 3) should accurately reflect the total amount of off-the-job training undertaken by the apprentice. Any changes to the values entered in this field during the apprenticeship may be subject to further compliance checks.

Planned hours for off the job training due to a reduction in prior learning (HRS 4) should record the hours of off-the-job training that have been removed from the apprenticeship in recognition of prior learning.

To be recorded against the programme aim of the apprenticeship or T Level programme.

The size of the Tailored Learning course (HRS 5) is to identify the size of Tailored Learning courses to be recorded on Aim Type 4.

Additional Delivery Hours (HRS 6) should only be returned for ESOL unit or qualification aims where a learner needs additional learning funded through the Adult Skills/ Adult Skills Fund funding model and be recorded on Aim Type 4. It must not be recorded for non-regulated ESOL aims.
