Definition
Apprenticeships
For apprenticeships this entity collects the Planned off-the-job training hours (as defined in the funding rules) that will be delivered to the individual apprentice over the full apprenticeship (excluding the end-point assessment period) by the training provider, sub-contracted training providers and the employer.
Collects the total Actual off-the-job training hours (as defined in the funding rules) that is delivered to the individual apprentice over the practical period of the apprenticeship ( learning start date to learning actual end date ). This should be entered at the end of the practical period or where the apprentice leaves the apprenticeship early as a non-completer.
Collects the planned hours for off the job training hours due to a reduction in prior learning where the difference between the planned hours before a reduction due to prior learning is applied and the change in planned hour after the reduction due to prior learning has been applied.
T Levels
For T Levels this entity collects planned hours at programme aim level.
Tailored Learning
For Tailored Learning this entity collects the planned timetabled hours for learning activities for the learning aim.
Adult Skills
The number of additional guided learning hours required for the learning aim.

Apprenticeships

Actual hours for off the job training of an apprenticeship programme for the individual apprentice at the end of the the practical period of the apprenticeship programme (excluding the end point assessment period) by the training provider, sub-contracted training providers and the employer. The information in the ILR may be subject to compliance checks during the academic year and must therefore be supported by the evidence requirements set out in the funding rules for off the job training.

It is important that Actual hours for off the job training of an apprenticeship programme should accurately reflect the total amount of off-the-job training undertaken by the apprentice. Any changes to the values entered in this field during the apprenticeship may be subject to further compliance checks.

Planned hours for off the job training due to a reduction in prior learning (HRS 4) should record the hours of off-the-job training that have been removed from the apprenticeship in recognition of prior learning.
T Level programmes
T Level planned hours must include:

the technical qualification

specialist content

non-qualification activity (employability, enrichment and pastoral)

maths and English delivery (for those students starting their T Level in 2024 to 2025 and beyond).
T Level planned hours must not include:

maths and English delivery for students starting their T Level programme before 2024 to 2025

industry and work placements (record hours for industry placements in the work placement entity and not in the planned hours)

other qualifications that are not part of the T Level.
Tailored Learning

Used to identify the size of Tailored Learning courses for analytical purposes.
Adult Skills

Additional Delivery Hours should be recorded to the nearest whole hour.

Additional Delivery Hours should only be returned for ESOL unit or qualification aims. It must not be recorded for non-regulated ESOL aims.

Additional Delivery Hours should only be used to record additional guided learning hours that have been delivered for ESOL units or qualifications where a learner needs additional learning. This additional learning to be funded through the Adult Skills/ Adult Skills Fund funding model.

The hours recorded are for the entire duration of the learning aim, not just the current teaching year. This field should be updated if required at the end of the learning aim with the actual hours delivered.
