Definition
Student engagement FTE represents the providers best academic judgement of the full-time equivalence of the learner (for this record) during the reporting year 01 August to 31 July.
Reason Required
Required by the OfS to record the intensity of students’ activity to be used for various processes including funding calculations, determining the NSS population, derivation of institutional performance measures and the calculation of student numbers used for determining OfS registration fees.

The length of this field is 5 characters, data should be returned with or without leading zeros or the decimal place, e.g. 005.0 or 5.0 or 5. Care must be taken to ensure that a STULOAD of 100 is not mistakenly returned as 1 (as 1 equates to only a few days study), or a STULOAD of 50 is not mistakenly returned as 0.5.
