Mode of Study: Field
Definition
An indicator of the mode of study expressed in terms of the OfS Higher Education Students Early Statistics survey (HESES) definitions. The mode recorded should be the mode at the end of year of engagement, or, if this is after the end of the ILR year, the mode on 31 July.
Reason Required
Required by the OfS to record students’ mode of study based on the definitions it uses for various processes including funding calculations, determining the NSS population, derivation of institutional performance measures and the calculation of student numbers used for determining OfS registration fees.
