  • Full-time learners who have a grade 3 or a grade D in English Literature or a grade 2/ grade E or lower in English Language should record the English Language grade in this field. • For learners on a programme of study that extends over several teaching years, this field must be updated at the start of each year

  • If the learner achieves an English GCSE during the year, this field does not need to be updated until the start of the following teaching year.

  • Only English GCSE achievement should be recorded in this field. If a learner has not taken a GCSE English exam or has an equivalent overseas or other approved UK qualification then this field must be returned with the value of 'NONE'.
