Summary of changes

Provider Support Manual 2024 to 2025

Changes include:

Traineeships

Due to the closure of the Traineeship programme all references to Progtype_24 and associated guidance has been removed from the Provider Support Manual.

Community learning and Tailored Learning

As community learning funding model 10 has been replaced with Tailored Learning funding model 11 all associated guidance has been updated to reflect Tailored Learning. The title of section 14 has also been updated to reflect Tailored Learning.

Destination and Progression

Due to the removal of the Destination and Progression entity all associated guidance for recording Destinations in the ILR has been removed from the Provider Support manual.

HGV Skills Bootcamps

An aims summary table for HGV Pathways outlining the aims used at each stage of learning, type of aim and category code reference has been added to the Recording Skills Bootcamp section for HGV Skills Bootcamps.

T Level Programmes: Framework codes and Pathways no longer required to be collected

The Recording T Level section has been amended due to Framework codes and Pathways are no longer required to be collected for T Level Programmes. The Technical Qualification and the Occupational Specialism will still need to match the Framework code and Pathway in the Learning Aim Reference Service database and this match will be validated.

Free Courses for Jobs

Free Courses for Jobs section is amended as the recording in the ILR is different in 2024/25 to reflect new criteria outlined in the Adult skills fund: funding rules 2024 to 2025. There is also the introduction of the Free Courses for Jobs validity FCFJ_Adult_Skills.

Adult Skills Fund

The Provider Support Manual has been amended throughout due to the move to the Adult Skills Fund.

T Level Transition Programme changes name to T Level Foundation Year

References to T Level Transition Programme has been replaced with T Level Foundation Year.

Additional guidance for recording Higher Education Data

Guidance clarifications on the concept of engagement and Mode of Study definition including Assessing attendance for mode, Distance Learning courses, Apprenticeships, Learning in the workplace and work experience.
